
Our Submarines
The University of Victoria Submarine Racing Club has manufactured 4 submarines since it's inception in 2017. 3 of these submarines used the Chinook hull profile, and 1 of them uses our new Sockeye hull profile.
Sockeye
2022-2023
Sockeye is the most recent submarine from the UVSRC, and competed at ISR 17 in Washington, D.C, in 2023. The submarine achieved the 4th highest speed at competition, and the 3rd highest speed in it's category.
Chinook III/IV
2019 - 2022
Chinook III was never raced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it's design report was featured in the vISR 16 competition in 2021. Chinook IV resused the Chinook III hull, and competed at the 2022 eISR where it achieved the top speed of the competition and came in the top 3 overall!
Chinook II
2018-2019
Chinook II last competed at ISR 15 in 2019 in Washington D.C. where it was placed in the top 5, and was awarded the "Best use of Technology award."
Chinook
2017-2018
Chinook was the UVSRC's debut submarine, competing at the eISR in 2018. Chinook placed in the top five, along with Three additional awards: Most Reliable Submarine, Best Presentation, and "best Engineering Report.
